About Us
Mission Statement
- The mission of NSWROA is to further and protect the rights of racehorse owners in New South Wales and to ensure that racehorses are responsibly and ethically treated both during and after their racing careers.
Recent Achievements
- Collaborated with metropolitan clubs to establish dedicated owners rooms and continues to work to improve the race day entitlements;
- Lobbied and received right for owners of horses scratched at the barrier to be paid unplaced prize money as a starter
- Free entry to provincial and many country race clubs for NSWROA members excluding carnivals;
- Input into negotiation for BOBS and BOBS extra;
- Input into Handicapping and Benchmark revisions;
- Input into Horse Welfare strategies.

Do I have to own a NSW based racehorse to join?
No – you don’t have to be a current racehorse owner to be a member, but you should have the intention of entering into ownership within a year. You may just enjoy our regular newsletters and updates, metro raceday parking privileges and invitations to race day functions.
Is there a joining fee?
There is no joining fee for the NSW Racehorse Owners’ Association. The annual rates are also very reasonable – please see our Membership section for details.
Yes, there is a growing number of industry discounts and other member benefits – please see our Membership Benefits page.
Does the Association hold social functions?
Yes. Our flagship event is Racing’s Night of Champions, a formal evening broadcast live on Sky Racing, which celebrates NSW’s best of the best for the racing year.
In addition, we hold several raceday and other racing related functions throughout the year.
