Racing’s Night of Champions Promises a ‘Rewarding’ Evening
While the presentation of annual industry awards is the main objective of the NSW Racehorse Owners Association’s Racing’s Night of Champions, raising money via auction for charity is the another feature of the event, being held next Thursday evening.
Partnering for the first time with Spinal Cord Injuries Australia (SCIA), the beneficiary’s relevance has hit home with the many industry participants, who have donated or sourced some fabulous auction entries.
Otherwise with the ‘book full’ sign up for 2019, a service (with free return) to Golden Slipper winner, Vancouver, donated by Tommy Berry and Coolmore Australia, is a highlight.
Other auction items include:
- a handmade gold and diamond ‘racehorse’ pendant
- a $10,000 SKY Racing advertising package
- a 5 Star luxury holiday in Bali with business class airfares
- a McLaren Racing Car track experience
- a commissioned equine portrait by Deanne Panya
- Lunch with Chris Waller and Hugh Bowman at Bistro Rex
A silent auction will run during the night and the live auction, conducted by Greg Radley, commences after the awards. The Racing’s Night of Champions Awards will be televised live to an international audience on Sky Thoroughbred Central by Sky Racing, with highlights also being shown across the Sky Racing Platform.
Racing’s Night of Champions is being held at Randwick Racecourse at 6.30pm on 15 August 2019 and all are welcome. Tickets are $240pp including dinner, drinks and entertainment. Bookings close at 5pm on Friday 9 August.
