NSWROA President Retires – New Officer Holders Announced

At the NSWROA Board Meeting held on 2 March 2020, our President of 12 years, Mr Ray McDowell, retired from the Committee. Mr Tom O’Callaghan, Vice President and Secretary of the NSWROA, stepped down as Vice President, having been appointed Chair of the Racing Industry Consultative Group as our Association’s representative.

Mr Tony Mitevski (pictured below) was voted in as President and fellow Board members Mrs Shirley McGrath and Mr Peter Quirk were voted in as co-Vice Presidents.

At this meeting, the Board resolved to award Life Membership to Mr McDowell for his long and distinguished service to the Association.

Mr O’Callaghan remains on the Committee and retains his role as Secretary.

“I would like to thank the NSWROA Board for the confidence shown in me by this appointment,” Mr Mitevski said. “I welcome this role with both enthusiasm and excitement. I am passionate about the sport of horse racing and wholeheartedly welcome this opportunity to work towards great success and growth for the Association.”

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ray McDowell for his dedication and devotion to the Association.
