NSWROA’s Achievements

In more recent times, some of the achievements of NSWROA include:

• Negotiated last-place prizemoney (in fields of up to 10 starters) for horses scratched at the barrier through no fault of their own, such as being kicked by another horse. A starter’s fee is paid if more than 10 runners.
• Collaborated with Metropolitan clubs to establish exclusive owners’ rooms
• Have a permanent representative in the Racing Industry Consultation Group
• Negotiated free parking for members at all four ATC Sydney racetracks
• Negotiated free entry to Provincial and many Country race clubs for NSWROA members (excluding carnivals)
• Formed a sub-committee to provide detailed input for the Thoroughbred welfare (TAWWG) initiative
• Continue to work to improve the race day entitlements
• Provided input into negotiation for BOBS and BOBS extra
• Provided input into Handicapping and Benchmark revisions
